Özkonak is quiet, with few tourists. Each visit takes 45-90 minutes. Closed shoes and a sweater are essential (temperature 12 °C).
9. Cave Hotel Stay (€120-€890 / night)
An experience in itself: sleeping inside the tuff rock, showering in a stone bathroom, watching the balloons from a cave terrace. Trip and Tick's cave hotel portfolio has 8 properties, ranging from €120 to €890. Use the concept filter on the /oteller page.
10. Hot Spring Hammam (Kozaklı) (€25-€55)
Thermal springs in the Kozaklı district, 35 minutes from Cappadocia. Source temperatures of 60-75 °C. A resort hammam package (entry + massage) is €55, entry only €25. Said to benefit the skin and joint pain.

A 3-5 hour session accompanied by a professional photographer. Sunrise shots with balloon backdrops (Esentepe / Aktepe / Love Valley), then portraits among the fairy chimneys. Delivery of 25-50 edited digital photos. The most popular choice for couples and honeymooners.
13. Instagram & Social Media Spots Tour (€55-€85)
Themed, Instagram-friendly spots: the Sultan Cave Suites rooftop terrace (flying carpet), Mithra terrace, the Local Cave Pension lobby, the Argos in Cappadocia courtyard and the El Nazar hidden church. 3-4 hours, with 1 photographer + 1 stylist (outfits provided).
14. Troglodyte Villages Walk — Çavuşin / Ortahisar / Mustafapaşa (Free)
"Troglodyte" means a person living in rock-carved homes. In these three villages you can still see rock dwellings in use today. 15. Fairy Chimney Observation Points — Pasabag, Devrent, Üç Güzeller (Free)
- Pasabag (Paşabağı): three-headed fairy chimneys, St. Simeon's church
- Devrent (Imagination Valley): animal-shaped rocks — camel, seal, mother and child
- Üç Güzeller (Three Beauties): at the entrance of Ürgüp, mushroom-capped fairy chimneys, the best-known silhouette
Each takes 30-60 minutes to visit. Included in the Red Tour.
16. Ihlara Valley Hike (€10 entry)
A 14 km long canyon, 100-150 m deep, in the Aksaray district. The 6-7 km stretch from Selime to Belisırma is walkable (3-4 hours). The canyon holds Byzantine-era church ruins (Sümbüllü, Yılanlı, Ağaçaltı). Restaurants line the riverside at Belisırma.
17. Selime Monastery (Free)
An 8th-century monastery at the end of Ihlara Valley. A rock-carved structure that inspired the Tatooine scenes of Star Wars. The stairs are steep, so old shoes are recommended. Included in the Green Tour.
18. Göreme Open Air Museum (€20 entry)
UNESCO World Heritage Site. A 10th-century Byzantine monastery complex. 13 churches and chapels — the Dark Church (Karanlık Kilise, extra €5), Yılanlı, Çarıklı, Elmalı and Tokalı are the most important. A 1-hour audio guide is recommended for the 2-3 hour visit.
19. Uçhisar Castle (€8 entry)
The highest point in Cappadocia (a 60 m rock). A Byzantine-era defensive structure. From the observation point at the top you get a 360° valley view — Pigeon Valley, Love Valley and Göreme are visible. A 45-60 minute visit. Sunrise and sunset are the golden hours.

Thanks to clay carried by the Kızılırmak (Halys) river, Avanos holds a 4,000-year ceramic tradition. In the pottery workshops you can try shaping clay on the wheel (€10 for designing a mini pot). The Chez Galip workshop (with its hair museum) is the most interesting.
